Fountains not only look spectacular with dozens of pattern, lighting, and size options but they also help prevent many issues in aquatic ecosystems. The physical agitation of the surface water adds oxygen to the pond, deters mosquito breeding, disrupts sunlight that fuels algae growth, and prevents stagnation. Bottom diffused aeration systems offer similar benefits but are even more effective at oxygenating the entire water column and require less maintenance.
