Mike Muyskens

Founder & CEO

With over 18 years of certified experience and a lifetime of interest in biology and natural systems, Mike is the foremost water feature specialist in West Michigan. On top of designing, quoting and overseeing large installation projects, Mike often finds himself shoulder to shoulder with everyone else on the team getting his hands dirty. This means that each and every water feature is constructed with care and creativity decades in the making. During the initial planning phase of your project and for questions throughout the process, Mike is your guy.

Eric Martin

Aquatic Sustainability Manager

Eric joined the AWM team in 2020 and brought 8 years of pond and lake management experience with him. Eric is primarily responsible for ensuring our customers' water features are healthy and looking great. With a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science and Water Resources, he is an expert in pond chemistry and uses that knowledge to help pond owners establish aquatic ecosystems that make for low maintenance water features.  If you need help maintaining your pond, Eric will help you!

Bill Haan

Horticulturist

Bill joined the team in 2022 after spending most of his career in the IT world. His hobbies of landscaping and gardening made for an apt transition to working outside with AWM. His passion for water features began 10 years ago when he DIYed his very own backyard pond which turned out beautifully. Bill's attention to detail, impressive knowledge of plants, friendliness, and communication skills make him a valuable member of the AWM team.

Brad Bishop

Installation Foreman

Brad joined the AWM team early in 2024 and comes with 4 years of experience in the industry.  Brad has a lifelong love of the outdoors that has translated into a passion for building water features, especially those that concentrate on a natural look.  His eye for detail, whether it's rock placement or finding an amazing log/stump for a water feature, helps him build amazing looking features.  His leadership raises the whole team's level of construction.  If you have questions during the installation process, Brad will be happy to answer them.

Nathaniel Collins
Aquascape Technician III
Nathaniel has 5 years of experience at AWM.  He is a chip off the old block (Mike is his Dad) ... he has a keen eye for rock placement in waterfalls and ponds.  A "jack-of-all-trades", Nathaniel can do it all.  Setting rock?  Check.  Running skid steers and excavators?  Check.  Planting plants in the aquascape?  Check.  Glueing plumbing?  Check.  Setting up the time lapse?  Check.  Nathaniel is quick to come up with creative solutions.  With his diverse experience, Nathaniel will have a presence at most of our installation projects.

Oliver Reed

Aquascape Technician II

Oliver also joined the AWM team early in 2024.
He has a lifelong love of all things natural including ponds and the animals therein.  His discipline he has nurtured in Jujitsu has served him well on job sites.  He has an incredibly creative mind, always striving to imagine what the next waterfalls will be shaped like.  Oliver has natural talent in an excavator and is learning to be an expert at setting rock with them.  If there's a big installation job going on, Oliver is probably at it.

Joshua Watkins
 Aquascape Technician II
Joshua's a student at GVSU and his studies in microbiology make him an invaluable employee for assessing our customers water quality.  This knowledge also helps him contribute to the ecological success of the ponds we install.  He is the AWM tinkerer ... having interests in pulling pumps apart, weld fixing the trailer, etc.  On the job site, you're likely to see Joshua planting just the right plant for the situation or taking water samples for testing.
Noah Millen
Maintenance Technician I
Noah was hired in 2025 to take care of our maintenance customers.  He has obtained his MDARD Pesticide Applicators license but like all AWM employees, tries to find an ecological solution to our customers pond maintenance issues first and foremost.  With a background in pool maintenance, rain garden installation, and native plantings, Noah has the perfect background to service our customers ponds.  If you need maintenance help with your pond, Noah will be happy to help.

Chance Mayle

Aquascape Technician I

Chance is our most recent hire and one word describes him ... passion.  He contacted AWM to buy some liner.  When Mike heard he DIYed his own swim pond he joked, "We should talk about employment!"  Chance, with no hesitation said, "I've been meaning to talk to you about that as well.  I've watched most of Aquascape and AWM's social media content and I'd like to work for you."  Hiring him was a no brainer.  In his short time with the company, Chance has demonstrated a thirst for knowledge and work ethic that is contagious.
